In this program we will talk about issues faced by our healthcare workers, challenges and successes through the pandemic, and strategies for coping. This online conversation is open and relevant for both healthcare workers and non-healthcare workers alike. Our overall underlying theme, "If I feel good about myself, I can give more to the patients".

*Bio of Dr. Fozia Asif

Dr. Asif is currently the Senior Manager, Center for Patient Safety at the Aga Khan University, Karachi. A graduate of the Dow Medical College, she did her internship in Pediatrics and Obstetrics/Gynecology from the Civil Hospital Karachi, Pakistan, in 2005. She received a Master of Business Administration with Health Management from Dow University of Health Sciences in 2015 and a Master of Quality and Patient Safety from Harvard University in 2019. Dr. Asif joined as a junior researcher at Aga Khan University in 2005. Dr. Asif then served UNICEF, Population Service International, USA affiliates in Pakistan till 2015. In 2015 she joined Indus Hospital and Health Network and led quality and patient safety until 2020. She has diverse experience in research, quality and patient safety, and public health

Dr. Asif's areas of expertise include the healthcare system, quality, patient safety, and public health in lower-middle-income countries. She has led a quality and patient safety framework at Indus Hospital and Health Network. She has developed risk assessment frameworks, incident reporting modules, complaint management systems, root cause analysis framework, capacity building module, and designing of patient satisfaction surveys in all network hospitals. As part of the Center for Patient Safety, she aims to develop national estimates of adverse events, capacity building in quality and patient safety, and develop strategies to prevent harm and make healthcare safer. Dr. Asif's interests lie in research, capacity building, and advocacy for quality and patient safety.
