ANHW Chicago: "Keeping Up with AI"

ANHW Chicago presents

Keeping Up With AI: A Discussion with Sebastien Martin

Tuesday, June 9, 2026
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM (Central)

Virtual Event

In this session, Sebastien Martin will show where the technology actually stands today through live demos rather than slides.

Organizer: HKS Chicago Area Alumni and ANHW Chicago. Please note this is a collaboration between these two groups, Crystal Bush is the president of HKS Chicago Alumni. She is also copied here.

Speaker bio: Sebastien Martin is an Associate Professor at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, where he teaches AI to MBA and executive students. He earned his PhD from MIT, and his research focuses on developing large-scale AI and optimization algorithms. He is also deeply engaged with the intersection of AI and education, working to bring cutting-edge AI tools into the classroom and rethink how business leaders learn in an AI-driven world.

Event description: AI has changed enormously in just the last couple of years, and most of us only see a small slice of what it can now do. In this session I'll show where the technology actually stands today, mostly through live demos rather than slides: real tasks handled in front of you, working tools built in minutes. Nobody is really an AI expert yet, which is part of why it's such a good moment for anyone, technical or not, to start building. No technical experience needed.
