ANHW Austin
Forest Bathing and Hike
Saturday, May 9, 2026
9:00 AM - 11:00 PM CT
Barton Creek Greenbelt Trailhead
2212 William Barton Drive, Austin, TX 78746
This isn’t a hike for step-counting or a lecture about trees. It’s a guided exhale.
Forest bathing, shinrin-yoku, is the simple, science-backed practice of slowing down in nature long enough for our nervous system to remember ahhhhh. When we step out of “doing mode” and into the sensory richness of Nature, something shift—measurably.
Research shows that time among trees can:
Lower stress hormones (fast)
Boost mood and energy (noticeably)
Strengthen immune function (not kidding!)
Improve sleep and cardiovascular health
Increase parasympathetic activity (your “rest & restore” mode)
What we’ll do:
We’ll wander, pause, and settle into a few beautiful spots along the trail. Expect a mix of light movement, guided attention, and quiet moments to just...be. No experience necessary!
Also, since this is a women’s alum group, so expect easy connection, good conversation, and the kind of joy that comes from being outside with smart, interesting women who also chose to show up.
Led by mindfulness teacher and author, Kelly Corbet, MPP (kellycorbet.com), this gathering is open to female Harvard alumni and alumni who identify as women.
Please join us for community-making, cell-improving, and joy. Email kelly@kellycorbet.com to let us know you’ll be forest bathing with us!
Cost: Free!
